Continental Pheasant
Hunting at LWSSC
LWSSC’s Continental Pheasant Hunt brings the excitement of European-style driven shooting to Central Alabama.
Shooters are positioned at stations arranged in a circle around an 80-foot tower. Pheasants are released from the tower, creating challenging high-flying shots as birds move across the field.
Throughout the hunt, shooters rotate between stations so each participant experiences a variety of shooting positions and opportunities.
How the Hunt Works
Take Your Station
Shooters begin at stations positioned in a circle around LWSSC’s 80-foot pheasant tower.
Birds Take Flight
Pheasants are released from the tower, creating fast, high-flying pass-shooting opportunities.
Rotate Stations
An air horn signals shooters to unload and rotate so everyone experiences different positions around the field.
Enjoy the Tradition
Retrievers collect downed birds while shooters focus on the hunt, the experience, and time together.
Everything Is Taken Care Of
LWSSC’s Continental Pheasant Hunt is designed to give shooters a complete experience from the first bird in the air through lunch and bird preparation afterward.
350 birds released during approximately three hours of shooting
Retriever dogs used to collect downed birds
All harvested birds cleaned and divided evenly among shooters
Steak lunch with all the trimmings
Four boxes of premium 12-gauge #6 ammunition included
Required eye and ear protection included
Blaze orange hat included
LWSSC soft-sided cooler for transporting birds home
Birds Released
Over approximately three hours of high-flying continental-style pass shooting.
Morning & Afternoon Hunts
Morning and afternoon hunts are sold separately. Check the event calendar for current hunt dates and availability. $425 per gun.
Start the Day in the Field
Morning registration includes assorted light breakfast items before shooting begins.
Spend the Afternoon Shooting
Afternoon participants check in after lunch and prepare for a full afternoon of shooting.
What Shooters Need to Know
Hunting License
Shooters need an Alabama hunting license unless they qualify under the Alabama resident age-65-and-older exemption.
Bringing a Dog?
Anyone wishing to bring a retriever must register the dog before the event. Retriever slots are very limited.
Reserve Your Spot
Hunts require payment in full to reserve a spot. Refunds are available until three weeks before the event.
