Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club was built around a passion for the sport, a commitment to safety, and a desire to create a welcoming community for shooters of all levels.
Our Story
What began in 2001 as a personal place to shoot quickly grew into something much larger when local skeet shooters needed a new place to enjoy the sport.
With the help of Johnny Johnson, a shooting schedule was created and Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club was officially born. Just a few months later, the sporting clays course was added.
Since then, LWSSC has continued to grow year after year while staying rooted in the same love of shooting sports, community, and time spent outdoors that started it all.

Find Your Way Around LWSSC
LWSSC is designed to make it easy to move between the club’s different shooting areas. As you enter the property, the pavilion and office are located to the right, with the main parking area to the left.
The skeet field and 5-Stand are located just yards from the office, with the trap field farther down the property. LWSSC also features two sporting clays courses and a pheasant tower located within the course.
