Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club offers several varying levels of instruction. New to the sport or wanting to correct some bad habits, take a lesson from one of our staff at a time that is best for you. Lessons can be individual or group. Email us today to setup a time for a staff member and get started with a solid base in the fundamentals.

In addition to our staff, the Club has several local instructors (Clay Cole and Henry Martin) and some of the world’s top instructors (Diane Sorantino and John Woolley) available at limited times.

LWSSC Staff

Staff is available one-on-one or group instruction of up to three people. Rates are a flat fee of $25 per hour.

Clay Cole

Instructional classes can be taught by Clay Cole. Clay focuses on the beginner to intermediate shooter.

Clay is available fall to spring, and most times. For more information or to make reservations please contact us. Flat rate of $55 per hour.

Henry Martin

Instructional classes will be instructed by NSSA certified skeet shooter and instructor Henry Martin. Classes are normally taught as one-on-one and in some cases two students will be accepted. This 2-person max class limit ensures the best and most hands-on and personal training available. Henry is a SMSgt, USAF (retired) and 2 X Alaska Armed Forces High Overall skeet champion. He held AA class in 12 gauge and A class in all other sub gauges. He was also 2006 Alaska State Skeet Champion in .410 gauge posting a 99X100.

Flat rate is $40.00 per hour per person.

GUEST INSTRUCTORS:
Diane Sorantino

Instructional classes will be instructed by instructor Diane Sorantino. Slots are limited and first come first serve. The class will be $175.00 plus target fees per hour. Classes can be one-on-one or group lessons.  For more information or to make reservations please contact us.

Diane Sorantino is arguably the most accomplished female sporting clays competitor of all time. She was introduced to hunting and clay target shooting by her father at the early age of 9 years old and now has over 40 years experience both as competitive shooter and hunter. Diane’s father was a competitive trap shooter and was instrumental in starting her off with a great foundation in shooting. In later years Diane took her sporting clays game to the next level. Diane teaches shooters of all experience levels from new shooters to Master Class shooters.

John Woolley

Instructional classes will be instructed by renowned instructor John Woolley. Slots are limited and first come first serve. The class will be $225.00 plus target fees per hour. Classes can be one-on-one or group lessons. John visits LWSSC several times a year so make sure to check the LWSSC Calendar for times and dates. John has a long and distinguished shooting career. In 1987 he won the World Professional Doubles Championship, and in 1990, he individually won the Beretta World Sporting Clays Championship. Since 1981, John has been in the top ranks of shooters. He’s been chosen numerous times to represent Great Britain on it’s elite four man National Team, the top sporting clays team in the world and in doing so has won 12 gold medals and one silver.
